A solar battery stores the power your panels make during the day so you can use it at night, instead of selling it back to the grid for a few cents and buying it back at full price. Advoltage Electrical installs home batteries across Brisbane, on new solar systems and as an add-on to systems already on the roof.
We are licensed electricians, not a sales company. We will tell you honestly whether a battery stacks up for your household, what size makes sense, and what it will cost before you commit to anything.

A battery makes the most sense when you export a lot of solar during the day and use most of your power in the evening. That is the pattern in many Brisbane homes: people are out through the day, then the air conditioning, cooking and hot water all run after dark.
The federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program has also reduced the upfront cost of eligible batteries. Use our battery rebate calculator for an estimate, and we will confirm what applies to your home when we quote.
If your bills are already low or you use most of your solar as it is generated, a battery may take a long time to pay for itself. We will tell you if that is the case.
Most existing solar systems can have a battery added. How we do it depends on what you have:
We check your inverter, switchboard and export data first, then recommend the option that makes financial sense. See our solar inverter replacement page if yours is due.
Bigger is not always better. A battery that never fills in winter, or never empties overnight, is money sitting on the wall. We size from your real numbers: how much solar you export, how much you use after sunset, and whether you want backup for blackouts or plan to add an electric vehicle later.
Not every battery keeps the lights on in a blackout. Backup needs to be designed in, with the right hardware and a decision about which circuits stay powered. If storm-season outages matter to you, tell us and we will quote a system that does it properly.
We review your bills, solar export data, inverter and switchboard.
You get a recommended battery size, the installed price and a realistic view of the savings.
The battery is installed in a compliant location, with any switchboard upgrades done in the same visit.
We test the system, set up the monitoring app and show you how to read it.
You get a clear, itemised quote before any work begins. No hourly-rate surprises.
We explain what we found and what your options are in plain language, and we tell you when something can wait.
All work is tested on completion and you receive the certificate of testing and compliance required under Queensland electrical safety law.
Every job is carried out by a licensed Queensland electrician. We are fully insured and we stand behind our work.
